The trailhead starts at the ruined Drukgyel Dzong; today's walk follows the Paro Chhu river.

A long day through blue pine and fir forest, gaining altitude toward the high valley.

The trail opens up to reveal Mount Jomolhari — camp is set below the peak.

An optional side hike toward the Tshophu lakes to aid acclimatization and take in the views.

Begin the descent, retracing yesterday's high-altitude terrain.

Continue the descent back through the forested lower valley.

The final trekking day ends back at the trailhead, with a hotel and hot shower waiting in Paro.
